18/07/2025
Klaipėda, Lithuania | July 18, 2025 : The second round of the UIM F2 World Championship in Klaipėda faced fluctuating weather conditions. The qualifying sessions started with Group A, followed by Group B, but heavy rain and thunderstorms forced the organizers to temporarily halt the competition.
After the weather improved and conditions calmed, the remaining qualifying stages resumed. The first qualifying of Group B took place, followed by the second stage that included qualifiers from both groups, and finally the last stage for the top 7 drivers.
The qualifying rounds saw France’s Peter Morin top the leaderboard with the fastest time in the final stage at 39.061 seconds, securing pole position for the main race. Sweden’s Mathilda Wiberg took second place with a time of 39.197 seconds, followed by Estonia’s Stefan Arand in third with 39.280 seconds.
On the other hand, Team Abu Dhabi’s star Rashed Al Qemzi finished ninth in Group A’s first qualifying, which prevented him from advancing to the second and final stages. He will compete tomorrow in the “Last Chance” race (Repechage), which offers only six drivers the opportunity to join the starting grid of the main race.
His teammate, Mansoor Al Mansoori, driver of boat number 36, was absent due to a minor illness.
